i have a 2001 explorer sport 4wd with the 4.0 and a flowmaster muffler...i was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what i should do...i dont know if i should straight pipe the cats or if i should leave one and straight pipe the other...or if i should buy a high flow cat...if i straight pipe one will the check engine light come on?...is there any high flow cats that u recommend?
I have an MAC Cat-back system for my 4.6L. Sounds awesome and the engine seems to breathe better. The pipes are 2.5" from cat all the way to the tailpipe. It is also painted black to better hide it under the car.
i actually started to paint my exhaust black...i think i am goin with the magnaflow hi-flow cat....its only 150$ i think it will compliment my flowmaster quite well...i also had the resinator cut out
thats why i am replacing the cats is because i have this god aweful rattling whenever i first start it is really bad but as my car is on longer it gets better but u can still hear it when you are accelerating. but it isnt as bad. yet it is still annoying as hell
I'm just lookingtoget better milage, and only really need that power when towing my boat 2-3 timer per year. 98% of the time its my wife's car, so don't want it too loud?
