Explorer programming

I know there are ways that you can control some features your car does. What I want to do is program my 02 explorer to have the radio turn off when the key is off. Right now once I turn the key off my radio still stays on until I open the door or it times out after a long period of time. I got a remote starter installed and now its become a problem. If I do the remote start and say something comes up and I just end up turning the motor off and staying put, the radio still stays on. Id have to still go all the way out to my vehicle and open the door to turn the radio off. I know theres ways to turn features on and off, does anyone know how to do that?

There is setting for it in the bcm. You will need to take it to the dealer or find someone with ids/vcm setup.

Doesn't the radio quit after like 10 minutes on it's own. I think it did on my F-150 I had.

My radio shuts off after about 10 minutes.


You could just shut the radio off when you park it for the night. That way the radio won't come on unless you physically turn it on.
