Does anyone else have an Explorer with goofy quirks?

We've had a 1998, 2000 and 2003 Eddie Bauer, a 2000 XLT and now a 2014 Sport all with the same silliness.

The speedometer is always 3mph over what we're actually driving.

The clock slowly sets itself to 3 minutes ahead of the time.

The 2000 and 2003 Eddie Bauers, twice a year, would set off their own alarms, late at night when everyone was asleep so we'd all go running for keys.

I'm waiting for Kurama, the Sport, to set off her own alarm late one night too!

Just one way the mighty Eddie works to keep you from getting a speeding ticket, and, making sure you arrive on time.

I think that you will find that the speedometer is rarely right on the mark. I've passed several of those roadside radar speed signs and they seldom if ever indicate the same speed as my speedometer. Clocks also rarely maintain the 'exact' time. They can run a little fast or slow.
Also, please remember this is a Forum on the 5th generation Explorer. Thanks.

The roadside ones are only legally accurate up to a year. They have to be mailed back to be certified and most places don't find it financially feasible to do that. That being said there is usually a cop nearby with a certified unit waiting for that oh so special person speeding up to see how fast the numbers change vs their speedo.
