I have an 05 f150 extended cab that wont start.Last week while driving to work i stopped at a store to get a paper and , when i tried to start it it started but ran very roughly when i tried to give it some gas it died. I tried several times to start it with the same results. If i didnt try to give it gas it would idle real rough for about 5 seconds or so and die. I looked for a fuel relay or fuse but there is none. I have not checked the power to fuel pump, but it doesnt make any noise at all when the key is turned on. Any ideas ?

Anyone know how to test the fuel control module? A mechanic at a local garage told me these corrode and cause more problems than fuel pumps but, he is on vacation and i cant get hold of him.

This one sits above the spare tire bolted to the crossmember.

The proper name is engine fuel control module. I am going to unplug the fuel pump in the morning to see if i get voltage to the pump. If i get voltage there i am assuming it is the fuel pump.If no voltage to the pump I will check to see if the control module is geting any power etc etc until I find the problem.

Fuel pump driver module rotts out above spare tire area. If you unbolt it you will see the corrosion and the electronics exposed. It usually acts up when wet and it is very common on f150/expedition.

This was my problem. The new parts have a stud with a nut and washers to stand the part away from the crossmember hopefully that will fix the problem with the aluminum corroding away.
