FROADER's 2005 F-150 FX4

Believe me, if I liked the new models, I would have considered trading both the van and explorer for one... But those new ones look worse than "a mix between a gremlin and my ass." :p:

Ah you're kiddin! 09's are the best looking truck on the road. And with the 6 speed they tow like nothing else man, freakin love mine.

But you do have a sharp ride. I love the black interior!

Sorry Josh, I don't like the headlights and grille or the taillights, at all. :)

Well I just got back from AAA and it's official.

On to bigger and better things:cool:

:(

Congrats though, the 150 is awesome.

Cool:thumbsup: Did you get your cat issues resolved with ford?

Small update.

I was BSing with a neighbor on my driveway yesterday after work. Looking at my truck I started to get annoyed at how grey they fender flares, rear bumper cover and cowl were. So a quick trip to Ace Hareware (for paint and plastic plugs so I didn't waste my time trying to save the old ones), got at it. I took off the side steps too, just to see how it looked and they are staying off. :)

I started too late to finish it all, but I got the driver's side flares done. These things are a ***** to get off!

It's going to look pretty good when it's done.

Of course there is a chance of rain the next two days now, so the rest may have to wait. I might try and get the pass side flares done tonight. We'll see if the temp stays warm enough to paint.

I did a quick photoshop of how I think I want the truck to look. Going for the expedition style rig.

Looks good Colin:thumbsup: You can probably get some coin for those steps;)

I like the black fender flares.

I have been thinking about putting the outer edge of rims back the unpainted metal like Raptor wheels, or like you have in the pic above.

Thanks. Yeah, the steps are going on craigslist tonight.

I may be painting the wheels and see what is involved in taking the lower part of the front bumper off this weekend.

When I get the key marks fixed out of the driver's door (been there since I got it), I'll have them paint the bottom and rear bumper black.

I think I might see about a black logo for the grill now instead of making a plate and putting a sticker on there. That's starting to annoy me too. :)

bumper comes off super easy it's like 4 bolts, it's just heavy and awkward. I removed mine to install my tow hooks

I should have said that I'm wondering how much junk is behind it. So if I take it off, will there be a bunch of ugly wires and shiz hanging down before I get a bumper made for it.

Do you remember if there was a bunch of crap behind it?

I don't have factory fogs in the bumper so yours may be a different, but no there is nothing back there, but frame

OK, I'm asking for some bed rack accessory ideas. I bought a rooftop tent recently and Winter and I are building the rack for it this weekend.

My ideas so far are the antenna at the top, lights in the rear (for tailgate cooking) and LED "rope lights" under the tent to illuminate the bed. What else would you want on there if it were yours? Does it need handles or tabs for anything else on there? A bottle opener?

What else do I need on this thing?

I dunno if this makes sense but what about some room for the young pup? Or at least maybe making sure a proper size dog crate fits under the rack.

Lights all around, with a wireless remote switch you can turn on from inside the tent. To scare the bears away, see your way to the night time potty, light up the entry ladder, etc.

hmmm, Will it me removable, when Winter asks you to a couch:D

I thought about getting a canback for mine, I think they look pretty good on crewcab:thumbsup: This is kinda that direction.

..Nobody's mentioned a beer bong funnel thru the tent yet???..j/k..

...Have you been to the racknroad.com on harbor blvd??..The store can give you a lot better idea of options compared to their site...

I have been there.

Just to show what the tent looks like. This is the tent I bought.
It will be opening to the passenger side when on my truck.
