I guess if I dont have cruise control I dont have anything to worry about?

Thanks for this forum and all the pics. FINALLY a place that helps me. I have an Expedition (2002) and recently I couldn't get my truck out of park after starting and figured out the "start the truck in neutral" trick for the short term. Figured out I had blown the stop switch fuse and it blows immediatley after replacing.

After researching site after site and seeing the recall notice, etc... I am taking my truck in asap.

Question: I disconnected the Speed Control Switch harness from the top of the brake fluid reservior and it was FULL of brake fluid. I am going to leave it disconnected and tied up and away, replace the blown fuses in order to get me 'safely' to the dealership. Will what I have done safeguard me from a fire in the short term?

OMG! Question! This recall is applicable only for cruise control equipped vehicles? My dad's Sport Trac '04 doesn't have cruise control. Anyway I'll check it just in case, now the non Cruise Control vehicles have this switch installed? (this switch is different from the low level switch right)

Hello,

Check the pictures above, if you have the connector coming straight off the Brake fluid reservior be war and check your VIN with Ford recalls.

Old post, but I never got the recall done and my cruise still works, and I hardy if ever use it.

Now, the truck looks like its been in several accidents....I might want a fire now But I might also run and get this recall done finally on my 99X. Had the same recall done on my 01 Windstar. What a POS :thumbdwn:
