Well maybe partin out my mothers' 91 or may sell whole if price is right. The things wrong with it, the Torque Converter and it started loading up a little today. The transmission its self worked really great before the converter started throwing its fits. Can anyone tell me what the explorer is approx. worth whole, and parted so I can let her know so can decide what wanna do with it. Thanks!

what about things like mileage and package options?

Its got I believe around 168k on the motor, the previous owner had got the transmission rebuilt then took it off the road to sell it, since then she put around 10k mile on it herself, its got pushbutton 4X4 Warn lockouts, pwr win,pwr lock, pwr mirrors. Red and black interior. Since it is a 91 as you may or maynot know early 91's didnt have roof rack, or rear defroster/wiper so this dont have those 3 things. So its pretty much a basic XLT.

You could look it up online at kelly Blue Book or on the N.A.D.A. site. that will give you a basic idea.

Thought bout that...but they both give diff answers usually Nada is a good bit lower than KBB. I don't find it to helpful when finding out a vehicles value when somethings wrong with it

..you could look at the past gen 1's in the for sale section...you can also post some pics and a good/bad list would help you get a better answer...;)

Ok
The Bad:
Torque Converter
Drive Shaft universals have some play
Windshield has a crack
Started Loading up on her today a little she said
And the topper portions of the truck have that cearcoat sun eaten look, but the side panels of the truck look good and of course the rockers have some rust to them.
And the front driveshaft needs to be hooked up, shortly after she got it this was March I believe she got it, well 2 months later the front seal went out, they took the tranny out and they said they could tell it was a freshly rebuilt tranny and afterwards never hooked the front driveshaft up since she dont do 4wheelin or anything.
The driver side window motor I believe the gear in it went because you need to push and pull up the window.
The Good: Electricals in the truck work. The interior looks really good no broken inside door handles, seats look in really good shape, if they made this interior right now brand new it could come 9/10 of being new. The only fault that I can think of with the interior is that the dashboard has a fair small crack in it. I guess it was in South Carolina for a couple years thats what the previous title was registered. Oh and the front driver seat is one of them bi-split seats so it don't have a console. so its a 6seater truck. It has a black thing in the center up front tho to put cd's and has 2 cup holders, I think this may have come standard in some of the explorers with a bi-split front seat.

...i would say if you didn't fix anything 650-1000 to the right guy...the good interior won't sell it...parting it you could make about the same...just my .02...

I was thinking about 600 bucks too, and I know the interior don't sell but...one of the big things people look at too.

...thats the thing, a good tranny rebuilt with warranty cost about 1500 bucks...worth as much as the truck not counting all the other stuff that needs to be fixed...i would run it here for sale as someone might buy it for a project of some kind, either stock or 4x...;)

Well going, to talk to her and tell her what I found out...and see what she wants to do bout it, she said about trying to find another Ex. she's impatient when it comes to down time for repairs.

...have you looked at the classifieds on here??? it's a great place to find one...also, this is why people wind up with 2 X's...trucks that is...:D

Yeah, I'm going to browse around on here a little see if I see something that isn't to far away and look around on Craigslist, I seen a couple ex's on there, the one only needed a gas line fix and they only want $350 for it. Thats another good place I've noticed to find vehicles.

I just sold my 91 4door for a grand.. but it can vary from 500 to 3000 dependingon the condition and what it needs.. Craigslist is a good barometer.. but I have seen recently 4500 for a 2dr lifted and 5spd and no rust for a 91. 2dr 5spd's are getting rare. I love mine.
