fender flares

im looking for some fender flares for my 1st generation x to make it look a little less stock. everywhere i'm looking they only have them for 2nd gen's and newer. does anybody know where i can find some and about how much they would cost?

if you have a 2 door ex you can do it but on a four door the rear door is in the way

I ahve the universal fit flares on my 1st gen and I like em, quick cheap and easy.

Who did you get the universal fit flares from? Are they plastic or metal? I wouldn't mind a set myself, although I don't have the tires to warrent flares at the moment... At least the stock tires sit a little beyond the body at the front... I think if I put flares on the tires would just look even more pitiful than they already do...

I had them on the rear of my other explorer too.

Froader... the second gen flares will work for the first gen? The rears, at least? Do the fronts work as well? I know the Ranger has the same front end, so those will work, but does the BII have the same wheelwells, or will BII flares not fit on the Ex?

From the pictures, it looks like the fronts for a 2nd gen will work as well.

True... although I think we all know that looks can be deceiving... has anyone actually used the 2nd gen front flares on their Ex?

it is confirmed they will fit...i borrowed a buddies to test this theory... no pics sorry.
