Hi All:

Just picked up a nice left front fender from the salvage yard to replace the one that 'kissed' a tree, compliments of my son. It's on my '98 Mounty 5.0

I was wondering if anyone had any instructions on the removal/replacement of the fender.....anything to be on the lookout for that might hinder the job?

I'd appreciate any input or words of encouragement as I'm starting on it in the morning. Thanks in advance.

I don't really remember and it's late, but my front fender came off easy except two bolts at the front. I think they connected it to the header panel, but I just worked with it only halfway off. Since you want it all the way off pull the park lamp and headlight assemblies out of the way to check. Otherwise you'll be tugging forever and it won't budge. The rest of the fasteners should be obvious.

The big grey plastic structure that holds the headlight and parking light is attached to the front fender. I got the front bolts off mine by hitting a bus (not recommended). Thus, I had to replace the fender also. Been over three years, but the only hard part I remember was getting the bolts the connect the fender to the verticle part of the body off. Took a long extension while the door was open to reach them.
