Fix Bumper Crack.. Help please

I was hit from behind the other week and I only got a cracked bumped. I can easily make the other guy pay for a new bumper which his dad was willing to, but if I can fix it I'd rather save the kid a few hundred bucks. The kid had mental disabilities that I go to school with, I want to try to fix it because I feel bad.

Anyone have any idea how to fix it/remove the lower rear bumper on my 05 Ford Explorer?

Well from looking at mine you should just be able to undo the four bolts(two on each side in red) and it will pop right off:
Or the two at the frame(in green)

But your may be different from mine, mine is an 01 sport




As for fixing the crack, if it was me i would use some careful persuasion with a rubber mallet(or hammer and piece of 2x4) to pop it back together, then bondo(optional) and a coat of paint

Thanks, but I think the 05 is different from the 01

Yes but the idea is the same, it still has a frame, and the bumper will still be bolted to the frame. besides pulling a bumper isn't hard to do, just dive in one day, thats how you will learn.

EDIT- why not go crawl underneath the car and see whats attaching the bumper yourself? if you cant tell then take some pics and post them up
