Well as you can guess I am one of the ones whose 4x4 system has gone out. I have searched the threads and read the Dr. Bobs page and feel as though I have a few more questions. First, on the Dr. Bobs site, there is refernce to the Ford Service Manual, I was first wondering if anyone out there has this online or on their computer and can fwd. me this section on the diagnostics as well as the "wiring" schematic for the 4x4 shift control. Also, are there any other "things" or secrets that you have found in improving the shift motor that I should be aware of that are not addressed on the Dr. Bobs page or in the threads? I am trying to get the X ready for the my move to N. New Jersey in the next few weeks, and this is one of the many things on the rapidly growing list that I would like to take care of. I know that I could always go the the Ford Garage and beg them to make me a copy of what I need, but as I am sure many of you can relate, the delealerships are not the best. Thanks for any help!

get manuals hubs you will not be disapointed in the long run and the whole conversion kit with hubs is cheaper than one blown auto hub. and as i found out , half the price of an off-road recovery tow truck

Here's the page from the manual. It should be good for 91-94 explorers.

Thanks for the replies, one day I hope to get the manual hub conversion. I guess in my first post I should have also asked if anyone had a "diagram" of the way the shift motor goes together. It would be my luck I get it all apart and won't figure out how it all goes back together. Thanks JDraper for the scan diagram, that will definitely help. If anyone else has suggestions, all are appreciated.
