One of my FOB's on my 2004 Mounty is officially dead. New battery in it, still didn't work.

I've done some research and there are a bunch of third party people out there that make FOBs. Would you recommend using them, and if so, what is the most reputable one? I cannot tell just from Google.

Or would you recommend going to Ford?

Thanks in advance.

Get a couple of them from Amazon. You can get'em for ~$5.00 each. Advance Auto wants $30 for the same thing. Make sure they come with the board and aren't just empty cases.

Mine have stopped working twice since I got the truck. I just reprogrammed them and they started working again. I also had to reprogram both of them and not just the one that stopped working.

I got some from ebay for cheap, but didn't end up needing them. Sounds weird, but try that and see if it works.

I should try this. I have always had 2 fobs and one day they both quit and I just assumed it was receiver in the car. It might be the receiver though because I recall the fob's range was getting lower and lower each day until it finally stopped working altogether.
