ok for all u guys out there with off road lights mounted on your brush guards or whatever else, i started installing my lights the other day when i hit a snag, i have everything connected to my battery like it should be and fed the wireing thru the grill to the lights and all that fun stuff, but after feeding the wires for the switch thru my firewall, theres a lone wire that i thought just needed to be grounded to somethin but thats not the case, its has to be connected to the fuse that is supplied in the kit, i have tried everything to connect it right but im just not getting any power, can anyone help me out?

the lights are PIAA 520's

-Thanks

Check out Hella 500s on 1st Gen Brush Guard the wiring diagrams should be very similar.. In the above thread the switch is lighted and therefore has a grounding wire (non lighted switches only contain a power and load wires). Power from the switch is Normally very low power (amps). The switch is only used as a relay trigger. The relay will connect high power from the battery to the lights. Therfore terminals 85 and 86 in the above thread's relay picture have no connection with terminals 30 & 87.

On a piaa harness the loan wire that isnt connected to anything is the trigger wire for the switch. Splice it to parking lights for fogs or high beams for driving lights.

will i have power going to my switch before doing this? (will the switch light be green) or will the power not go thru until the loan wire is connected to my parking lights, and how do i connect the loan to the parking lights

Power wont be at the switch untill the wire is connected to a power source.
I just use the clips (quick splice, trailer wire splice, ect.) that you place over ea. wire and pinch w/pliars. One probably came w/the PIAA harness or you could get a pack of them at the parts store.

yea it came with the PIAA harness i just dont think i am connecting everything to the red clip and fuse source the right way, the picture in the directions that it came with r really confusing, its all coming down to just the loan wire
