Fogged up windows

Just a theory but possibly you have a leak some where. My rear driver side window had a bad seal do to faulty butal, this caused it to leak in-turn led to foggy windows. Also my rear hach glass weather stripping took a poo and it leaked a little when it rained. After I fixed these problems I haven't had any problems.

I had an old VW with a leaky windshield that had this problem too-- the extra moisture in the carpets from the leak would turn to steam when I put the heat on and fog up all the windows terribly-- the more heat, the more fog. Check your floor to see if there are any wet/icy spots indicating a water leak.

:p I crack my rear windows about 3/4 of an inch and turn the fan on full and hot (defrost) until it's clear then turn it down to the first click and keep the windows open a crack to let the vapour out, just don't forget to close them when exiting the truck

do the explorers have a cabin air filter by chance? i reached into the cowl with m fingers once and i felt somthing like a filter and it was wet and im wondering if were all just shooting water through our air systems via this air filter... just a thought

No the only air filter an Explorer has is on the intake

Crack in the heater core if it gets worse when the defrost is on.

this might sound wierd. If you rub shaving cream on your mirror in your bathroom it prevents them from fogging up for about a month. Found this on the internet and i can verify that it works atleast in my bathroom. Wonder if it could work on the windshield? The mirror is clean and you can't see any residue on it so it should'nt affect your visibility.

I'm trying that in the can

Explorers 98 on have can have cabin air filters, a HEPA filter. I wish my 96 had one.

It worked
