Found this site. Seems neat. Guy got a junkyard D60 and a 9 inch and merged them into one front axle. Be a interesting alternative to a D44. Of course more fab work invloved. Dunno how youd convert the 8.8 to 8 lug or whatever.. heh what yall think?

looks tough... but why? that just seems like way too much work....

from what I gather alot less weight and more ground clearance. 9inch housing/center section. D60 35 spine outers and knuckles. currie also makes something like this but it cost a ton like dynatrac......

That is one sweet looking axle.

Might as well go bullet proof, and like he said his choices to run 5.14:1 gears left him with weak options.

Sweet Axle....

The only thing a can think of against this combination is the high pinion options for the 9" only makes it weaker, where the D44 has a high pinion option makes it stronger.

Can you come up with a high pinion for the 9" housing that increases the strength of the diff.

Nice work and keep the ideas coming.

:us: :chug: :can:

From what ive read the high pinion currie 9"dropout actually uses reverse rotation 8.8 gears and not regular 9". so when used in the front it should be strong.
