i have a chance to buy 5.0 explorer headers but they are for a 96 i need them for a 98 are these the same thing the seller says that they are not, thanks in advance

I would buy them anyways, if they dont work you can easily sell them as they are in high demand.

I do not know the answer to your question, but I do know somebody who wants them if you dont.

You will need to cut the EGR fitting off your passenger's side manifold and weld onto the new headers. Aside from that, they should be identical.
