Ford should be ashamed

I'll just toss this out there- I have voice recognition for the bluetooth in my Camry. It's the biggest pain in the ass to use- this was the old new method:

push the button on the steering wheel.
Wait.
Say phone.
Wait.
Say address book.
Wait.
Say name of person I'm calling.
Wait.
Say call.
Then it goes.

Honestly- it's a hell of a lot easier to just push the green button on my phone, or the buttons on the dash to use it since as soon as the call starts, it comes over the speakers anyway. I can be calling in 10 seconds vs. 30 seconds+ and it's not really heads up anyway, as I'm usually looking at the screen anyhow.

I have to say- I don't think I'll even use the VA commands when we get our 2012. I could see the benefit if you have a massive musical library on there, but it seems like a ton of work and way longer to do (and I still think as distracting since you're watching the screen anyway) than just using the touch screen.

Just my thoughts...

That's definitely a bug! Your videos were painful to watch! I hope speaking normal does make difference so please test and report back. Still waiting on my X.

The Internet offers no forgiveness for companies today so hopefully Ford will give MFT 100% resources and make it the amazing product it was "envisioned" to be!
I’ve been assured that the SYNC engineering team is working hard on improvements and they’re especially dedicated to incorporate the technology in the Explorer. I’ll be keeping an eye on yours to make sure everything is going smoothly.

Mine did the same thing with v2.7 only it was the state. Id spell Maine and it would be option 1. I then woukd say "one" and it would show minnesota lol. It hppened only one day, did it 7 times in a row. Havent had an issue since then and I have 2.8 now
I’m glad to hear your voice commands are working for you now.

CapnMorganXX, please keep us updated on the progress with having your APIM replaced and drop me a line if you would like my assistance.

I am a 'not so happy' owner of a 2011 Limited and I have to admit - I've never been this unhappy with a new vehicle purchase.

I don't remember in recent history having been so excited to take delivery of a new car. That feeling sure didn't last long though.

I don't know where to begin...

The MFT is a disgrace. There should be a class action lawsuit against Ford for shoving something so full of bugs down our throats. This is the main reason I bought this car and is now the reason I dislike it so much.

I drive about 800 miles a week and am in and out of the car 20-30 times a day. Any idea how frustrating it gets having to wait for the MFT to become ready every time I start the car?

I get Navigation faults usually at least once a day, sometime more. I have to remove the SD card and re-insert it several times to clear the error.

The recent destinations seem to get reset on a regular basis. This is a frequently used option for me and pretty much unusable.

I had my dealer do the upgrade to 2.7 and noticed no improvement. They tell me I am only allowed one more update at no cost so why would I take it in for the 2.8 upgrade when the bugs aren't apparently fixed yet?

Another reason I was so excited for this vehicle was for the Verizon wireless card support. Is this ever going to work? Isn't this false advertising?

Occasionally the screen is black when I start the car. Sometimes I have success pulling over, shutting the car off, opening and closing the door to totally power the vehicle off and then re-start it. Sometimes it takes several cycles to get it turned on.

My brakes squeak like there's no tomorrow and my dealer wants to turn the rotors. Will Ford pay to replace them when they wear out sooner as a result of turning them now?

The rain noise is embarrassing. I had a client in the car the other day and he still talks about it. I'm not an engineer, yet I would have had the common sense to not use roof materials that would cause this.

My trim on the front left quarter panel becomes separated at least once a week and I have to snap it back into place.

The streaky windows are also quite annoying. I realize it's only a minor inconvenience but when you combine with all the other problems it is quite bothersome.

Any chance of getting a refund?
Could'nt agree with you more, I have the same feelings!!

+1 on that. I agree wholeheartedly.

This really needs to be fixed fast.

I'm waiting for the next update and if it's not solved, I'll be back at the dealer to unload this lemon.

My Lincoln Aviator with a Pioneer head unit was a much better system. Hands down. This was a downgrade in electronics. I'm frustrated beyond belief.
