I'll just toss this out there- I have voice recognition for the bluetooth in my Camry. It's the biggest pain in the ass to use- this was the old new method:
push the button on the steering wheel.
Wait.
Say phone.
Wait.
Say address book.
Wait.
Say name of person I'm calling.
Wait.
Say call.
Then it goes.
Honestly- it's a hell of a lot easier to just push the green button on my phone, or the buttons on the dash to use it since as soon as the call starts, it comes over the speakers anyway. I can be calling in 10 seconds vs. 30 seconds+ and it's not really heads up anyway, as I'm usually looking at the screen anyhow.
I have to say- I don't think I'll even use the VA commands when we get our 2012. I could see the benefit if you have a massive musical library on there, but it seems like a ton of work and way longer to do (and I still think as distracting since you're watching the screen anyway) than just using the touch screen.
Just my thoughts...
