Unfortunatley Your Truck Has Electronic Turbo Controls. The Turbo Pedestal might Contain A 6c673 Exhaust Back Pressure Solenoid That Youre Ecu Needs To Run The Engine. So That Would Limit You To Your Stock Pedestal Unless You Can Somehow Bypass The Ebp. Banks Performance Can Probably Hook You Up With A Better Turbo Or Knows Who Can----good Luck

just swap the stock pedestal for one out of a van and go ahead and use the van turbo as well.

wats the pedestal and is there something better about the van turbo??? or is it like a good base to build up from??because i am looking for more power!!! :)

the pedestal is what the turbo sits on. the nice the thing about the van turbos is that they have the non-EBV pedistal and have no waste gate. Just swap those over with an ATS compressor housing and you'll get around ~30# of boost vice the factory ~25#.

before you get into this I would invest in a pyrometer, egt gauge, and a turbo timer before you extensively modify anything it will pay back in the long run.

I Gotta See This!

Ok i found some wrecked vans and ambulances for cheap that i could get just the turbo out of now what kind of vans and ambulances like what year?? (just any with the 7.3L ??) and is it for sure it will hook up and work right?? i just wanna make sure before we start planning stuff so we dont just waste are time

any year 7.3L turbo will work. much more info can be found at www.thedieselstop.com site though. also the ambulance packages offer a dual alternater setup to give you about ~220 amps

7.3 Idi Or 7.3 Di?
