Found my vacuum leak! But HELP! Where does the hose connect?

Find(search) on here for a picture of the bottom side of the intake. That sounds like one of the main vacuum connections under the upper intake. One of those goes to the brake booster, one to the PCV, and I think one goes to the other port of the intake. A picture which is on here can identify that port very well. I know that it's in one of Jamie's threads.

Try this thread, it looks like you that port is the rear one under the upper intake. But it should be facing rearward if it's the one it appears to be.

Just went out and took a look at mine and it's just capped from the factory. Doesn't go to anything so just plug it back up. HMMMMMMMM...wonder if its a good place for seafoam?

I have a 96 5.0. The fitting underneath should be a "tee". I think the portion going to the back goes to the pcv valve. The part of the tee facing forward, which I believe your photo shows, should have a have a cap on it. Covering that fitting with your fingertip should stop the vacuum leak. If it does, that hose with a bolt in it was doing the same thing as a cap. Just put a new cap on the fitting.

this had me thinkin because i have tore mine down twice in the last 2 weeks now. i wanted to say it was either A. the hose that goes from there to the front underside of the intake..kind of like a long J or B. the pcv valve one.. i know its not the brake booster one because that one connects more to the rear side of the fitting you described/showed.

hey bud, i have the exact same problem, that hose goes around to the intake to your pcv valve. But i dont know where the front goes, i have it capped off atm and my truck runs great...like u i cannot find out where it goes from that point.

Ahem...

that is the PVC valve hose ...it goes from the pipe in the first pcture to the PCV valve locate in the lower manifold......u need to replace the hose, the pcv valve and the rubber housing for the valve .....good luck !!!

Just recently changed out PCV hose assembly for a '97 AWD v8. The fitting in your picture looks like the 3-way-T fitting on the drivers side upper manifold vacuum. The original hose setup used both of these fitting. Hose from the front manifold to the front fitting, then hose from back fitting to a 2-way fitting to hose the PCV is connected to.

The front fitting on the drivers side needs to be plugged using the new set-up, i.e. hose from the front manifold connects directly to the hose that has the PCV. The hose directly connected to the PCV has a short hose that connects the rear fitting on the drivers side manifold.
