Hey everyone. I've replaced my front driverside power window motor in my 94 xlt numerous times. The last mechanic to do it drilled out some rivets and i think they forgot to put a screw back in somewhere because the window goes down and binds up because the motor isn't tight enough against the frame of the door.

I want to replace the power regulator to a manual crank one because I know if I get the power "fixed" again , 6 months down the road It's just going to break again.

Is this even possible? I wonder if I should just goto a junk yard and find a same year explorer with a manual window

Why don't you just check which screw is missing? Also have a look at the bushing thread in the Stickies. It might just be these three bearing thingies.

Some lubrication of your window rails also can do wonders with stuck windows.

I would suggest fixing it yourself and fixing it right. I have had power windows last many years without a rebuild.
