Front End Noise

Hello Explorer/Mountaineer Owners

I forgot to mention about another problem, at cruising speeds around 30-45 miles I notice the front end of the vehicle makes a clunk or knocking noise on uneven and bumpy roads. I'm going to replace the shocks really soon but will that elimante the problem? If not what areas will I need to check or service?

I know the 1st gen Ex's had issues with the radius arm bushings. Do the later models have that problem too?

I had the same thing on my 2000 while going over speed bumps. Turned out the ball joints were shot.

I apologize my vehicle is a 1997 Mountaineer V8 AWD BUT when I purchase this vehicle the previous model removed the front driveshaft so now its a 2WD. I know what I was getting into and bought it as it is
