I did it!!! PUt a no-slip powertrax locker in the front!!! WOW what a huge difference off-road. Its like night and day. I'll post pictures later today.
Best mod i've done so far. All went okay, ran into a couple bumps but all was forgotten after it was installed and working GREAT!!!!
Thing was pricey but well worth it. I can be hanging on 2 wheels and still keep truckin!!!! AWESOME. AWESOME
Thanks to Josh Adam's for his help, the xplorer fourms for their how to's and Jefe for his help too!!!
Took me about 3-4 hours Friday Night and 3-4 hours Saturday. Biggest problems I had was that I had to take the ring gear off. I didn't know this and sent an hour or so asking people what needed to be done if I took the ring gear off. Than I had to ran to a friends house to use a vese to hold the diff.
Than after I got it all back together tried the test hold one tire and spin the other the oppsite way, it wasn't working. I thought I was going to have the same problem Josh had. So put the truck on the ground started to back up, something popped and than seemed like everything was good to go. Jack it back up, do the test, works great.
Went wheeling that same day, WOW, WOW!!! Worked great, climbed right pass this hill where I had a spotter and about 3-4 tires b4 I made it up. Now with the locker just climbed right up like it wasn't even there. :blob:
On the road, can't really tell it is there. I've heard a clunk a couple of times as it un-locks to take a turn. Maybe a just a little effort, I mean little, to change lanes on the freeway as it again unlocks.
BEST MOD YET!!!!!
