Front wheel get tight when on 4x4

Hi everyone im new to this forum im also new to a 1991 ford navajo but i have a problem with the mazda here it is
When i turn the 4x4 it work but when i steering (L & R) it get really tight sometimes and it stop.

Anyone have the same problem or is this normal?

Welcome to the site.

If you're on dry pavement (which you shouldn't be, because you could break parts), then yes it's normal. 4x4 should only be used on slippery surfaces like dirt, mud, snow or ice.

That's just the fourwheel drive binding, like froader said, you want to do it on slippery surfaces because something eventually has to let go when it binds up whether it's the tires or the hubs, etc.
