fuel cleaner smell

This has been happening for the past year or so and i have just kind of ignored it since my ex runs fine. But i figured i would ask the panel here.

I had done a fuel cleaner treatment about a year and a half ago. I put two small bottles into a full tank of gas and let it run through. I did the same procedure one more time. My 92 ex runs smooth.

My question is that when the tank gets to a quarter left and lower, i can smell the fuel cleaner coming from the engine bay. Would it possibly be the charcoal canister going out?

Very well could be the charcoal canister has gone bad after all this time.

At least my guess was correct. Thank you for the reply. Should I be concerned about the canister? I have no running issues and my ex has passed smog easily.

I replaced mine once because the smell was bugging me, but it eventually came back again. I don't drive it enough anymore to worry about it.
