Im live in mexico cuty, that link can be useful, i proceed to dismount the fuel tank and review the gage float this weekend

You live in Mexico City? Are there many explorers like your over there? I didn't know the first generation Sport were imported to Mexico, I thought only the 2nd generation was, I live in Mexicali, just by the border, Hola y bienvenido.

I replaced the whole part in the tank when I changed my fuel pump and it still don't work....

recentrly i bought my explorer in San Antonio Texas and come back to mexico city, i drive my truck for about 18 hours, my buns are erased !!!!

That's o.k. I'm trying to do my best to in writting in english, don't think I am from the u.s., I'm mexican, but I don't think It will be wise to write in spanish.

So how will you do it for parts there in Mexico city? and how much did the final cost ran you? with everything (car, importation and legalizing it + gas)

Cheap Explorer

total cost of my truck is desglosed next

truck $2,500 dll
lmportation and legalization $ 1300 dlls
fuel $ 100 dlls
one hotel nigth $ 40 dlls

most parts of this truck are the same of Ranger and other explorer models, and i have a friend in Nuevo Laredo, he can help me to obtain some no available parts here in mexico city.

Nice deal on it, is it a salvage title? because mine was and I got it for $1200 and repair the damage was about $450 with paint and parts, and importation was $250 so that's total about $2,000 or $2200 if I'm missing something, is your explorer a 4x4? because mine's a 4x2

viejofeo, you might also try a search of this site. The topic has been discussed several times in the past.

Mine has been dead for several years. I use my odometer to tell about how much gas I have.
Someday I may fix it!

Yes my explorer is 4x4, an i have one question, what means the "D" letter in the speeds arm

So it's a 5-speed, and to add to your english it's not called a Speed arm, it's the shifter or the stick shift, and the D as you call it, is a D inside an O, that means overdrive and from what I know is like a 5ft speed but not that good of power, I don't know if I'm right. Anybody?
