Did you check to see if there is power at both wires going to the inertia switch?

Hi Guys

I found that the fuel pump fuse blown and I replaced it. The explorer started up and ran for a few minutes then died. Couple days ago when I switch the eec fuse and the fuel pump fuse they looked good. The one from the EEC spot must been blown. After it ran a few minutes the EEC fuse blow. I replaced it again when I started the explorer it ran for about 5 seconds and blow again. I say I have a short somewhere. What do you guys think?

I went out and started looking at the wiring. On the driver side I found a wire loom laying on the exhaust and was melted. Tomorrow I will go back out in the day lights and hope to fix the problem.

That is the transmission harness.

Yup, it will. The eec sends 12v down to the trans and then it does a signal ground to the solenoids to control the 3/4 shift and the torque converter lockup.

This issue is somewhat common (harness into the exhaust), don't feel bad.
