I've checked batteries etc in the remote, and even with new batteries, the remote still won't work on the Ex. I've followed the method in post 54; is there anything more I need to do?

Wish I could help. I programed the Fusion key without a problem. I think there is a limit of 4 key fobs on the keyless entry system. Any chance that the truck already has had 4 fobs programed with it?

I've thought about that, but each time you program it, you clear any previous remotes as well (ie it renders them useless). Off to a dealer I think!

That is correct. In order to program a new remote, you must program all existing remotes along with the new one.

Yep - that's about right, which is why I can't understand why I can't program the fusion remotes to my truck.

I'm so glad you bought one first, you can be the guinea pig on this one

Do you want to sell a key? If so, how much to 17065?

Thanks
Tom

I'm in Australia - postage will be worth more than you can buy one for locally!

LOL, didn't even notice.

Thanks

Check the frequency of the remote versus the reciever in your truck. Most all of our keyless systems from the factory stateside are on 315MHz per the FCC. Kinda like how your garage door openers use 433Mhz and ours are 390/315.

Find a buddy that has a frequency counter of some sort capable of reading between 300-500MHz. Bring your new Fusion key and your old keyless remote and have them tested. Like I said, mine runs 315MHz, but yours could be different. If worst comes to worse, call the dealer and they should be able to tell you something. If they say that the Fusion key isn't even sold in the Great Down Under, eh... you might wanna try and sell it again. Or get your money back.

I think you have just hit the nail on the head with the hammer. Bugger!

Hey JCUZ,
What ever happened with your Fusion key? Did you ever get it to work?

Yep, got the key to work OK, but not the remote. I understand that the Australian frequency for remotes is in a different range to the US frequencies used. I have been looking for an Australian key that is similar to the explorer one, where the key and remote are all in one, but so far no luck.

That's unusual. Normally things like integrated keys catch on in Europe, then get stateside. Next time you talk to the dealship, ask them if Australia and UK have the same frequency.

Scratch that

I just spent 15 minutes on eBay.co.uk, and I cannot find this kinda key for the UK Ex. I don't remember when they stopped UK sales tho.

I did pop mine apart earlier, but I can't get to the remote's brains. They give just enough access to change the battery on mine. If I had another $50 to blow I'd just say {vulgar term for intercourse} it, and hack into mine to figure out more.

There is a way around all problems, some require more creativity than others, but there's a way. Sorry I didn't reply to your message sooner. Things have been slightly hellish.

does anybody have a 2007 fusion key fob 2 sell. i cant find any on ebay with the right fcc code.

you program the keyless entry yourself there is no code that has to match. Should be in this thread on how to program the key and keyless entry, and it is also in your owners manual on how to program a new key fob. i bought mine off ebay and it works great, the trunk button even pops the hatch

Got the first of my 2 Fusion keys programmed today. I two cut, and had the locksmith program the first because I only had 1 key...I'm getting ready to do the second on my own. $37 to get both cut and one programmed ($35 + $2). Not a bad deal and only took about 10 minutes after I convinced them it could be done.
