Hey FastAZZ4.0, were you able to get an accurate alignment after you did the swap?

naplesbill

nope, i haven't gotten mine done yet though, but i don't think it will correct the amount of camber that i will need. i am going to need shims i believe though.

If you could let me know I'd appreciate it. If you can still get it aligned properly, I will do the swap to mine. Then I could get the 3" drop leafs and my truck would look SWEET!

well i am going to be doing it here real soon

but your truck looks sweet right now, i bet it will be a helluva lot sweeter though sitting right on those rims and tires though. but i will post a reply on this post when i do it.

Hey guys!!! I took out the bolts to see how far it would drop tonight. the left dropped 4 inches!!!! Not lying at all. It was really easy, I just took a rachect and a pipe to get the tough bolts to move. I think I might have to put the left bolt back in though because the right side is about 1/2 in higher :(. HOPEFULLY *fingers crossed* the right side will settle some to be even with the left side. If it turns out all ok i'll take some pictures for you all to see.

Ummmm... did you take off the bumpstops? When I dropped mine 2.25" I was sitting on the bump stops.

how can i tell if it is sitting on them?

well... it all starts off at the knees. what you do is you bend them and eventually they hit they ground... then lean over... J/K

The A-arms will be touching a piece of rubber. The front bumps stops are pentagon shaped and about 1 1/4" thick. Maybe someone has a picture they could post if you cant find them.

It drives good and straight, but the wheels are a little like

/ \ if i take it to an allignment place, will they fix it? Do i just say i need an allignment, or is it something else that it is called?

And yeah the arm is up against the bump stop if it is what i think it is (right behind the wheel above the arm?) it doesn't seem to affect anything, why should i cut them down?

cuz if its sitting on the stop you have NO suspension uptravel. it will ride like @ss.

the ride is good, but i'm cutting them to see if it will settle more :) What do you use to cut them??, its some pretty thick lookin rubber..

hacksaw with a new blade and big triceps...:D

you have to put it up on jack stands and jack it up, then take out that rubber thing and cut it??? or can you somehow do it without jacking it up?

jack it up so you can get a socket in there. I dont remember the size... maybe 8mm or 10mm and unbold the bump stop. then put it in a vice and cut it.

the bolts for the TT were american (1/2")
you sure it is metric?

My good socket set is metric... that is all I use. I even used metric for the TT.

yea the torsoin adjuster bolts arent standard, they are metric but as you found out many standard/metric sizes are interchangable.

i used a "hose cutter" to trim my bumpstops without removing them. it took very little effort.

i have 2 inch lowering blocks for the rear, and 3 ton craftsmen jack stands. I use the jack under the axel right? but then where do i put the jack stands??? they won't go under the side frame because the leaf springs are in the way.... AND they are about 3 inches too short to reach the back frame part. Where did you guy put your jack stands, and did you use anything to extend it?
