I have a 98 Explorer which is making a grainy engine noise. A metallic sounding grinding noise that starts and stops. I can't figure it out and the noise has no distinct usage pattern. It happens when the engine is idling, accelerating, decelerating, braking, low speeds, high speeds, etc. Any ideas?
