Hey guys, Ive been browsing on here and finally decided to make a post. I am new to explorers and you guys seem to be very insiteful. I have an 06' explorer XLT with a V8 and a towing package.

My question is this. How will it do pulling a lightly loaded 6x12 or 6x14 enclosed trailer. Is there any difference in single or double axle issues with towing? How many miles per gallon are you getting? Highway? Anybody taking off road towing through dry grain fields?

Thanks in advance!! I am fairly new to explorers and again you guys seem very knowledgable. Appreciate any imput.

Gary

Welcome to the Forum!
I have done some towing with my 2002. Not with any enclosed trailers, but with a huge custom car hauler. It towed nicely. Remember when towing, you wanna turn your overdrive off.

Tou should be fine for towing that load.

You might want to consider an additional ATF cooler.

Good luck ....
