Wow--thats pretty awesome!
How fast do you think you were going when that happened? Did the rear lock up?
Glad you were able to fix it quick--

I think I was going ~70+mph. I went to shift into third and heard a clunk thought I missed third so I re-shifted into third and stalled out immediately.
I look at my speed and it said I was going 0mph. I coasted through the 1/4mi at 17sec and 60mph...

looped and turned off the track and made it about 100ft. a buddy got done with his run and I tried to go again and heard a louder clunk. then the engine rev'd freely but wouldnt move at all...

luckily ChrisWells78 had the old axle sitting at his house... had it towed there and fixed it today...

That looks awesome! At least is was an easy fix as far as time and parts availability. I did this with a Honda transmission once. It was hella fun.

...you really egg shaped that hole for the pin....i'm with doppler on the cheap fix...and i must say, your truck looks prettier than mine on the tow truck...:p:

Well, we know for sure a 4 door axel will bolt up to a sport. The only difference was the extra tabs on the 4 door axel for the stabilizer/quasi traction bars. We swapped his calipers, pads and rotors because they were newer/ nicer looking. We also had to swap out the 5th shock bracket for the funky counter weight thingey the sport had. Otherwise it wasn't a bad swap.

Wow, spider gear go boom!!

did you swap out the bracket for the counter weight??? cause i didnt...

I didnt notice any difference yet but Im sure once I really trounce on it or get back to the track Ill see a huge difference... (before winter hits I hope to take out the old wheels with my close to bare tires and give them a hell of a smokey burnout...)

I thought you did the counter-weight. LOL I'll go out and take it off the other rear.
