Grill conversion???

I'm not happy with the limited number of grill inserts / replacements for the split style grill on the 02 Sport Trac and am wondering if anyone knows whether or not a regular open style Explorer grill frame/insert will fit?

I would love to install 1 of the Harley style grills because thats the theme I've gone with on my STrac.

I really don't want to get into body mods because my paint is near perfect and that would just add extra cost.

Well, then you have answered your own question.

If you are not willing to do any extensive body mods for the sake of the paint, you can't really do anything that would be considered 1-off custom.

In order to do the grill modification you are talking about, it would require AT THE VERY LEAST to cut the front 12" or so off the fenders, and weld in the same section from a Harley F-150. And you would have to use the F-150 Headlamps to make the grill blend in...then comes the task of cutting down the grill so that it fits in dimensions of the new opening.

This is no 'small task' that can be done without repainting the fenders.

99 sport grill concept

This is something I thought would look good. Almost a Saleen look. Just photoshopped, but it's an idea, if you can figure out how to do it.
