howdy,

i am rebuilding a 302 for my 94 explorer. i want to make good times at the track (or good for a 4000+ lbs suv!) and still drive it on the street with no bog from poor air speed at a low(form heads that are to big)( i had a 72 351c cobra i know how bad haveing way to big heads hurt street driveing!)
so i was looking at the GT-40 "P" hi-flow cast iron heads ...would these be good street heads with a 260deg. 456" or 266deg. 469" cam.
this will be a carb engine with a performer intake.

so dos any one have a good .02 on this?

The "P" heads are excellent street heads.

for some good mod info on the P's, check out the "GT-40p thread" in the need for speed column in the sport truck section. good info. basically, you wont have to worry to much about over-doing it with too much flow on a mild ford performance head. ford is known for having some small exhaust ports/valves, and unless you get wild, it will still have decent low end.
