94 Mazda Navajo
I hope somebody can help with a mechanical problem. My SUV is a 1994 Mazda Navajo, same thing as a Ford Explorer, V6, auto, fuel injected, 4WD. When it gets hot outside, like 93 today, drive it, park, and it will crank, but runs rough, then dies. Sit long enough, keep trying, eventually it will start and run fine. Worse after running the A/C.

Today I was driving down the road, it wasn't even hot yet, didn't have the A/C on, and it just died. Coasted to a safe spot, turned the key and it cranked back up. Turned into a driveway to turn around, died again, eventually started again.

Asked my good ol' country boy mechanic what he thought it was and he has no idea...of course, he was working on the brakes at the time. Anybody here got a suggestion? Computer chip bad, fuel filter, fuel pump, or something else mechanical? Thanks in advance!

My first guess would be the fuel pump.

Could be the iac valve

Do a search on the iac valve Dead Link Removed
Sounds like your problem
