Harrisonburg, VA- January

Yeah, there's stuff more challenging for you to try. Some things I even didn't try with my 31's.

The rock waterfall is a good example. Here's Steve going up it in his Navajo. The picture doesn't even start to show how challenging it really was.

Wow, that's a good picture. Looks pretty tough, especially with wet tires. I'm not a big rock fan when i'm off roading, rocks don't give, mud does!

I just got back from a little wheelin trip with some friends, and man, the locker makes a 500% difference, and even more with my mud terrains on. We had a blast, but i still have to get my 4lo working before i'm going to VA because i had the clutch smoking a few times today!! Hopefully the guy at ford will know tomorrow since he's been on vacation!

Happy trailes!

Still wondering if anybody's up for a run on Sunday. Depending on how things look once I get to Ohio I'll be there. If things don't look good I'll keep ya posted. There's no way though I'd be up for a 5hour drive just for one day run. Come on people, just a quick run on Sunday.

If things go like I'm hoping for I'll be there Friday afternoon/night sometime. Then hit the trails on Saturday. Maybe have a group dinner somewhere. A run on Sunday, then leave that afternoon sometime. Just let me know if you're up for any of this. I may even try to hit Rick up for some "Goodies" to use in a drawing on Saturday night for those who make it.
Anybody think this sounds good?

Once I finish the move to Ohio I'll also be about 20 minutes from Wellsville. Working on maybe getting a large run there with the RRORC croud, I'll keep ya updated on this as well. The east coast alway's wanted a large run, so here ya go.

CHAR,
If I rember right last T-Haven most of us froze our butt's off at night. Coarse you wouldn't of known that as you wussy's were stuck inside the camper. WA WA, it's too cold, I'm staying in the camper with my hot shower. Dead Link Removed

2 days -spring/summer

Lee, I cant do it on sunday, but like I said before if theres interest we can do a weekend in the spring or summer. There are some other trails to hit that are a bit north and south of Harrisonburg that I need to run see what they are like. Problem is that the decent trails arent in one area. Have to travel. I think it would be great in the spring to have a weekend ride with a couple of trails a day to run.

Saturday will be a full day if everyone shows who said they would, and at this point Im planning to run three trails and time permiting we will head up a fourth, but this will depend on the group the weather and time available.

Anyone hunt and know if anything is in season mid

WAH WAH WAH it's too far. I can't drive 5 hours to wheel one day. Dead Link Removed
LOL :D
I drove 6 hours to Paragon for just one day. It's worth it just to meet everyone.

If a few of you guys want to stay and do a little on Sunday, I'm sure I could hang around also. Question is, who but Steve knows how to get to the trails and back from them?

Hey, if you guys wanna do a little wheeling on another day, and want to meet in the middle, I've got some trails here, and you guys can crash at my house....

I might be able to hang out another day, no commiment though. I don't know if any of you guys have heard of the Cranberry River (awesome fishing) here in West Virginia but there is a lot of land that is open to the public for trucks and i think me and a buddy are going to head down there this weekend to do some wheeling and maybe map out a route so maybe i could get a group thing this spring some time, might be a little far for some to drive, but i'm coming about 4.5 hours for this run and i can't wait!! But if we keep talking about sunday i might be in for it.

Happy trailes!

It's not so much the drice that I don't wana do. I've drove alot longer for alot less. With me moving money is VERY VERY tight. I really wana get the most "bang for the buck" so to say. I have no problem even scouting a few new trails for the next time if need be. At this time I'm not able to dish out the cash for a one day run. Not to be a jerk or anything, just can't justify it. It doesn't even need to be an entire group, one or two people would be fine by me. Just want somebody with me just in case.

Jot, where in WV are you at? Been looking at a map and I may take some highways through WV to get there. Maybe we can hook up somewhere for the drive.

Scout new trails when we don't know where they go to? How brave are you? :) If we can get at least one more to stay, I'm in. (better to have 2 trucks to pull somebody out than just 1)

I know what you mean about money being tight. I'm always broke, especially before and after Christmas. I've got an idea that can help us both save some money. If it doesn't bother you, we could share a hotel room and split the bill. I'll probably have my girl along with me, but don't worry, we'll be good. :)

I'll hang around for Sunday.

You are exactly who I was hoping would stay! You've got the biggest truck, you'd be the most help. Great!!

Anyone else up for Sunday?

sunday

I'm maybe 75% in for sunday, will keep yall posted. Im thinkin im gonna end up stayin the night in hburg anyway so sunday would be great, hit some different stuff not run sat., if anyone knows of anything.

Well, like i said i might be up for a sunday run too.

Leebo, i live about a half hour west of Charelston on I-64. I'll be taking 64 all the way to VA, so it's about a strait shot. If you'd like to meet up somewhere that would be great. I'm probably going to try to leave somewhere around 4 or 5 on that friday. Once the time gets closer and things work out maybe we can make some more plans, looking forward to seeing you!

Happy trailes!

We (wife Sandi & I) will be staying at the Courtyard in Harrisonburg right off I-81 Friday and Saturday night. We should be there around 8 or 9 on Friday night. If anyone else is there with nothing better to do, call and we'll hook up for a cold one.

Rick Morris is my name, so you can find us. Don't know the number for the Courtyard though.

Heres a link to some writeups about the trails in GWNF and the surroundiong area from one of the guys in OCC who writes really good trail reports. I asked Paul if I could post the link here and he gave me the OK so you can check them out.

Old Long Run, Second Mtn, Dry River and Kephart are the trails Im thinking of running, but it will depend on the weather and such.
Anyway here you go:
