I wanna know..how many ppl here have actually been able to make the back end or the entire rig slide sideways through a corner(no I dont mean a spinout because you couldnt let off the gas or hit loose gravel) because youre tires couldnt grip? If you have, what tires?

Specifically, those with BFG AT KOs..this ever happen..how about when on wet pavement?

when I punch it around a sharp corner I can bring it around a little or at least spin the inside tire quite well, when it is wet if I punch I can bring the rear end all the way around if I want or am not careful enough.

I do it every time I drive the Explorer. Which is why I don't drive it anymore. :D Danged 33" BFG muds are starting to wear out some.

damn i do it all the time. i have general grabber APs and when i went to get it re-aligned and rotated 2 weeks ago the right rear tire was half worn down. i have only had the tires on for 6000 miles. i powerslide everywhere even on dry pavement. i will actually spinout if it is wet out so when it is raining i just coast through the corners

Dang, it must be nice to be able to afford new tires every year by doing that!!! The BFG AT KO I have are too expensive to be doing that!!! I'm hoping to get 50K miles out of them.

hee hee

Yup I just bought my BFG AT KO's today and I threw the whole back end around on the first turn on dry pavement...

i can pretty much do it at will...in the wet. my 30x9.50 bfg at ko's are alot of fun when i want them to be, but at the same time, they instill alot of confidence by tracking straight and true in all conditions. especially in the wet. driving back to austin in a relatively severe rainstorm last friday night, going 70 mph, i entered one interstate off of another. i didn't feel like letting off the cruise, so i powered on through the entrance ramp and not even a slight trace of slippage, front or rear. these tires are amazing!

Easy to do with my old '92 Sport. I have Dunlop Rovers on it, and I can pretty much do it at will. My '01 is a different story. With the way the 4wd system is set up, it is virtually impossible to do without spinning out. As soon as the rear starts to let go, the front wheels start to pull, and either straightens it right out, or gets me all out of whack. The "auto" mode really changes the way you have to drive it when you are on the edge of losing traction. I got used to hanging the rear end out on the corners on dirt roads, but when I tried it with the new one in some gravel, I ended up facing the wrong direction:)
