I mean it does sound good but quite .they don't make the old fm40 only delta and they got ride of they famous drone of the 40 but made it quieter .for my taste its to quite but now i have it dumped before the axle and it sounds a 100% better so

yeah having nothing after the cat convt was to loud for me.. sounded like a damn freight train mixed w/ semi, i would be going 35 mph and sounded like i was doing 85+, i dont like the quite either, i wanna be sitting there at the light and can hear it.. but not headache or rice sound like the cherry bombs.

I think your like the 40 then.you have hear my sound clips right?there from a phone so in person it does sound a little deeper

sucks i was gonna go out tonight and start on them, but damn i feel like crap, think fixing vans wife tomorrow then the ex... haha.. the ex is our winter toy.. ill get it done and itll prob snow like 5 ft

so YAY almost done... not even close... so fender wells out, heat shield off of manifold, got all the bolts out of the manifold, got to the last one and SNAP right where the threads stated on the bolt!!! YAY! its the top front bolt on passenger side... sooo then i thought id take a brake and finish getting that cat off of there, like i said we got it half way off the flange is non exsitint, not sure whats holding it together.. went through about 3 sawzall bits to cut...

****e nothing seems to be easy with this thing... any tips from anyone who has put headers on while motor in car? got cold, taking a break..

lol hope its worth it...

jd took a sawzall to the y-pipe. just past where they split into two was a good spot. BUT my engine was out, so i dunno how space will be for you. if that works for you. make sure to check your inertia switch after lol

btw, that paint looks awesome

im trying hard to get it done, wanna be street legal and able to drive again. especially being winter... will most deff need it running! im gonna try to cut it again, charging all my batteries and went and got sawzall heavy duty metal blades.

pondering though how im gonna do the busted bolt!

thanks Xeek!

hopefully with new headers, new cat, new o2s she will run better and get a slight increase in MPG.

Pull all the rest of the bolts out then pull then manifold off and grab it with vise grips, may need to heat it first .i wouldn't even mess with the cat flang bolts just cut it right before the flang and after the cats.it will all pull out after that, hello i wouldn't even mess with the collector bolts just cut every thing out.

the cat flange is gone, its rusted to the y pipe something fierce, dealing w/ cordless tools is a PITA.

The pipes that comes up from the Y Pipe into each Manifold are the same way, no flange just to many years of rust, ****e aint even any bolts there, they were gone!

all manifold bolts are out but that busted one, soaked it 3 more times in pb blaster, i thought about that JD heating it up... but my fear is, when the motor being open now if I use the small heat torch wont I ignite something?!?

i stood there looking at it daised and confused because i was like, "ok..... after all this comes out, HOW THE FACK, am i going to get the new stuff in, because it sooooo dont look like itll go from the bottom!"

sorry just ughhh oh i did get both o2 sensors finally unplugged, yay there! lol.

side note: when i got the headers yesterday and opened them for the picture, the baby kept running into the kitchen "ahhh boftiful" and would point then run to her mom and tell her same thing.. haha plus im working in neighbors garage and he has taken like 5 pics of them! so much beauty but soo gonna be hidden.

edit: Thank you JD for the Header Plug, already have it in! THANKS!!

That far down your be fine especially on the passenger side.it all will fit and a whole lot easier for sure.i can see my headers threw my fender wells;)make sure you use red locktight on that plug or it will shake lose.can't wait to see some pics on vec

oh hell yeah, i plan on taking pics of under and from render view w/ fender wells off then from top... lol bragging rights! haha.. if you dont have pics you didnt do it... :p:

oh yeah i did, i had to go up and get more cause i used the rest of my red lock tight on my kids bed, ran up to get more... gotta love inflation! went from 6 a tube to 12 a tube!! crazy! but yeah its got lock tight on it, the o2s have anti-seize

should i use anti-seize or locktight on the header bolts

I used anti sezi but i swear that they loosen up every couple months.

Idk because they prob get to hot for blue and after awhile they should stay tight.i would just check them every couple week/months

BBefore you put all the bolts in and crank them down, put the spark plugs in and the wire boots to see if they clear.i had to grind little of the flang for clearance
