Does anybody know if i need the head shield under my hood ?? Because my intake is sucking a little bit of it in and i was just goin to remove it. is this ok?

If you are referring to the black fiber shield attached to the bottom of the hood, yes you do need it. It prevents the heat from cooking the paint. If the intake is sucking it in you could remove the section above the intake.
 






that heatshield from what i have heard also will blanket smother a fire... i guess the plastic clips holding it on melt and drop it onto a fire...... when i put a replacement hood on mine, it didnt have one, but it was also just primered... i left it like that for a few years, but never saw that it did any damage to the paint....
 






Bumppppp. Anyone know where I can pick up a new one of these heat shields for a decent price (i.e. not the stealership price)? Mine is hopelessly mud-stained and looks like crap.
 






Anyone? I may have to visit a junkyard. The best I found was roughly $90 plus shipping on fast parts network. Not willing to pay close to that much for a cosmetic change.
 






I have not had mine for 8+ years! no ill effects except the hood is lighter and I dont have "hood matt fuzz & pieces" all over my engine bay
