I left my moonroof open last night, and, well, it kind of rained. A lot.

The seats (power, but don't plan on touching 'til its dry) are soaked and the carpet is too. I am running a dehumidifier now, but it's really not doing a thing.
Anyone have an idea? I thought about driving around at about eighty with the windows down, but I don't have that kind of money right now.

Any ideas at all would help!

I would get the seats, console and carpet out fast before it mildews, lay the carpet over sawhorses in the sun to dry. How iis the headliner? If it's wet, make sure it gets dried good also

removing the seats and console isn't real hard, certainly less hours than to pay for new. Give it this afternoon and tomorrow, you should wrap up easy

The headliner seams to be dry. The rain was strait down, so it basically leaked in instead of blew in. I was thinking of removing the seats, but theres no sun here. It still looks like its going to rain.

I used my Bissell Powerstreamer carpet cleaner hose attachments for a water leak I had somewhere in the front driver side area and it worked very well.
If you have padding underneath, you'll need to pull the carpet back to suck the water out of it also.

Rent or borrow a machine with the attachments and that should get up most of it. Good luck.

The best solution is to remove the seats and carpet and allow them to dry in the sun or dry area... If that isn't realistic then I would use a carpet cleaner or wet dry vac to remove most of the surface moisture.. I would then place a dehumidifier in the trunk area and place plastic wrap over the reservoir tank to prevent the unit from continually sucking up moisture it already sucked up.. Now to quicken the process you need heat, as the hotter it gets the more moisture the air will be able to hold and the quicker the dehumidifier can do its job... As such I have a small ceramic heater that I place in the vehicle as well.. This maybe all you need as the interior may not be as wet as you think and removing the interior would be overkill.
