It involves inserting extra resistance into the signal line from the IAT sensor to the PCM so that the signal seen by the PCM is such that it registers under 40F. Pretty much like the ripoff resistor mods sold for years on ebay that promised massive increases in horsepower or fuel economy. Or, you can just keep the tank full as I already suggested to inhibit the evap monitor.Fool the IAT sensor? What does that do? And how do I do that?
There is no such thing as a fuel system "sensor". The fuel system monitor tests the ability of the PCM to accurately, within limits, control the fueling of the engine. This includes the MAF sensor, O2 sensors, and a host of others that have to be working correctly. There is a very extensive write-up in the previously referenced OBDII manual. See it for details.
You will likely find that only the evap monitor is permitted to be incomplete on this new of a vehicle. Check with your local jurisdiction for specific details.
