I searched but didn't find anything to help me....

Ok so I'm trying to remove my gray pin stripe and having no luck :fire: I heated up one end with a hair dryer real good and its not coming up. I also tried to take my finger nail and start peeling it up, but thats not working either. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance...

i live in AZ so i let it sit in the sun for about 10mins until it got real hot then i just started peeling real real slowly... then use some goo gone for the sticky stuff underneath the stripe

Got up to 80's today and I let it set in the sun for while.
Its not wanting to peel up...all I can seem to do is chip away at it.

I did mine the same way with the hair dryer. Just held it on the same spot for a little bit, snagged the edge with a nail and just kept the dryer going ahead of where I was peeling. Mine was peeling on the edges so it was easier. Sometimes if I couldn't get a spot up I'd work from the other end. Still heating it up and pulling. Mine would warm up enough that it was really stretchy when I was pulling it.

Also when I did mine, it was pretty cold in the garage, maybe 40s? And then heated it up. Maybe sitting it in the sun is baking it on? Persistance is my suggestion. Eventually its got to all come up.

Just be patient. When I took the pin stripes off my girlfriend's '99 Civic was the same way. It peeled off in very little sections and most were just chipping off. It took me nearly 3 and a half hours to take all the pin stripes off.

Could it be that you have a custom job pin stripes? Meaning its painted and not pin stripe stickers?

hmm, doesnt look like it, but it could be. Guess I'll find out

It might have clear coat paint over it...then taking it off is a nono :nono: You will be left with a strip of no clear on your paint....

Yup its clear coated :fire: I'm sure it will be $$$ to get it taken off

Looks like I'll have an all white X with a grey pinstripe :sigh: :o
