help with explorer awd to 4x4 conversion

Have a question. Doing this swap will it harm the automatic transmission over time?

Anyone have problems after the swap? Swithing to 4h and 4L?

I'm sure you've already read the above thread. All info needed was put into one convenient place. I don't see how the trans would be affected as long as the install was done correctly. I'll be doing this to my 5.0 this spring.

I did read it and some where in there some people said they had some problems with shifting i to 4L from 4H. something about stopping putting it into N to shift it to 4L. Just wondering if anyone else have to do the same thing.

Manually shifting to 4 high from 2wd can be done on the fly. Shifting down to low range has to be done from a stop or barely a crawl.

I am super stoked!!!! Hopefully with my tt and aal and warrior shackles and 31 inch tires i can do some off roading. I never off roaded this is gonna be my first time when i do this swap.

Thats what i keep hearing. So do the bw4406 last a long time? So will i be fine on most trails with a aal warrior shackles and a 2 inch tt with 31inch tires on most trails?

check the fluid of the used unit you get, a fresh fluid change is easier when it is out of the vehicle.

youll be fine with that setup while you get to know your own limitations, but trust me it wont be long till youre looking for more lift, bigger tires, lockers, armor, etc, etc... its an addictive hobby
