I have been trying to figure out why my marker/running lights/dash lights will not work. I own a 2000 Explorer XLT 4 door 4.0L.

I lost my marker/running/dash lights while towing a boat home and I have replaced both the multi-switch for the blinkers/hazards, and the head light switch and nothing has changed.

Today I removed the tow light adapter 3-2 unit to make sure that didn't short either and still no changes.

After searching this forum for nearly 2 hours, I have yet to find a thread with the info I am looking for, so does anyone else have any info I can use?

thanks in advance!

On my 96 I would lose lights when it would rain drove me nuts trying to find problem
finaly isolated it to wiring harness that goes to trailer connector there is a connector on drivers side up near rear tail light I pulled that plug and have never lost my lights again
it feeds the trailer connector and license plate light
harness looks good but something was shorting out when it rained
