Order my Explorer a few weeks ago; was told that black was cancelled. They offered to upgrade me to tuxedo black... I said sure!

I asked the same question... was told that black is a flat black and tuxedo black was a 'richer' black with metal flakes in it. I believe that means a bit of a sparkly look to the black...

Black is cancelled?

I ordered black a month ago. I never heard anything about the color changing or being cancelled. Received an email today that my EX was in build status but does not yet have an invoice or VIN yet. Tuxedo black sounds nice though, hope I get it.

Send Cory an E-mail with your name and dealer code he will be able to look it up for you and see if a VIN# is in the system yet. My dealer was less then helpful.

just spoke to the dealer, he told me Black (UA) has not been cancelled, only Tuxedo black was cancelled; i now have a VIN# and Pm'd Cory so we shall see, but looks like no Christmas present for me

Did you check online for a window sticker? You never know

Check your vin online when available. The Tuxedo black was suspended with the Japan earth quake. ( availability issues). Early 2012's did not have this color choice, just black was available. I was at the dealer a week ago and saw the Tuxedo Black on a new ex, might be back in the color choices, also lok online at the Ford web site.

yeah, i saw a tuxedo black explorer at the dealership today....it looks nice. i didn't see it out in the sun because it was on the showroom floor....not sure if i like it better than my regular black ex.
