I just finished constructing an HHO Genorator that I completely designed by myself, for myself not using any internet provided plans/instructions. So, in other words, I'm new to the game. My current set up is producing 1.7 liters of HHO per minute and has a .75 gallon resovior, so I'm doing allright ;)

now.. I havn't installed it on my 4.0 yet so i'll get on the MPG numbers ASAP, but before I do, I purchased an EFIE. I've got the EFIE installed properly and it is currently set on the factory switch. I need help calibrating, and how I go about doing that... It has city and highway calibration knobs and both turn 270 degrees total. Counter clockwise is more lean, and clockwise is more rich. I'm wondering where I should have those knobs to begin with so I can start working from there, and a further explination on what I should be doing to calibrate it.

If anyone is running an HHO/EFIE set up I ask you to help me!

I'm in school right now (shhh), so I can't go out and grab a picture of it... but it's this exact EFIE Here.

oh, I apologize hahah.

I've got a 4" diameter PVC housing, running (from outside in) n+n- Stainless Steel 304 tubes. from 3.5" to 2" diameter 1/8in thick

all right, I feel retarded now..

I figured out how to set an EFIE if anyone is interested...

this is how I did it, and it appears to really work... I'm no expert and will probably get criticism for this. so try this on your own will.

1. unplug the the neg. from your battery to reset the computer's memory and plug it back in
2. turn on just motor and let it heat up
3. turn on HHO genorator and let heat up
4. turn the EFIE from factory to enhanced and have both knobs sitting in the center position between Lean and Rich
---For City Driving---
5. flip the EFIE to city
6. do a series of stand still starts gradually turning the knob towards the direction that leans out your fuel/air (mine was to the left) until you start to feel sluggish or a choke (stay on a neighborhood street, you will probably stall) once there turn it one notch back to rich, and done. If you never feel the choke while accelerating you might be going the wrong way with the knob.
---For Highway Driving---
7. stay a distance away from other vehicles and ride at 65mph
8. start turning the highway knob in the same direction as the other SLOWLY until you start to feel sluggish or start chugging, once there I turned mine 2 notches back up to be safe.
---I'm not sure here, but this is what I did---
9. stopped at a 7/11 and unplugged the negative cable from the battery again and let the computer reset
10. flipped the mode switch from enhanced to factory started her up and while at idle with both motor and HHO genorator heated up, flipped the mode switch back to enhanced and began cautiously driving around town, and on the highway... the computer seemed to figure itself out again..

DONE!

Mileage results soon to come...

What are your results?

I noticed your thread on the setup of your EFIE and the hydrogen generator that you have constructed. It sounds like the generator is very efficient. Can you tell me how many amps it draws while in operation?
Your thread was started in November 08' and was wondering if you have any results to report on MPG etc.

Thanks

I've had it off during the winter months, but, at most I was doing 25-27mpg highway and 16-18mpg city. Both were at about 40% gains. The numbers were aquire by 'tuning' the EFIE with a scanguage... Which isn't bad... I'll go take some pictures shortly when it warms up outside.

Where do you plan to mount the generator on/in your truck?

I mounted it right above the steering shaft/rod whatever it's called, attached it to a 'custom' aka crapily made bracket that runs along beside the brake booster and master cylinder. It slightly rests on the steering shaft, but not much weight is on it, so I assume it will be fine, it fits pretty snug.

Post a picture please.

I since some possible criticism?

^^as you can see it rests slightly on the steering shaft, theres an L bracket used on decks that it is resting on, I have that screwed/glued to the firewall. I usually have a pipe clamp, the rings that you can like screw clamped, attached around the large metal tube that comes ouf of the master cylinder, I do not know what it is called, to keep the genorator straight up.

^^very poorly constructed, used PVC and scrap metal i found laying around my house and brother's shop

^^yeah, it's a little snug

^^My SS plate setup is just - n +

ALRIGHT, now that you've seen it, tell me how poorly contructed it is!!! hahah

I since some possible criticism?

Not at all. I was just wondering where you could fit the generator. I am looking for a better location for my new one.

Thanks for posting.

From your pictures it looks fine.

Can you post some pictures of the "guts"?

are you asking how to make one? well, i've got the pipes cemented in there, so they're not coming out, but I'll go get a picture later tonight and explain it.

Where to mount your hho generator.

You might want to move the generator to the front of the radiator, get it away from the heat of the engine. I did a ford ranger and put two of them right in front of the radiator, behind the grill.
How did your efie work?

I ended up scrapping the one from ebay and making my own. It was just crap quality.

I currently have a video uploading to youtube explaining everything i've done, sorry about the long wait, we had over a foot of snow last week, and then the past few days it's been 80 degrees with snow on the ground  ... How do I go by posting it to here so you can just click play rather then having to follow a link?
