I may just forget about the HIDs and do the sylvania zxe bulbs. The HIDs i run on my vette are such a PITA. Anyone have the bulb number for the bulb number for the low beams and fogs on a sport?

The factory halogen bulbs are Headlight HB3 (9005) and the Fog is H11
You can go on the Sylvania web page and the correct part #'s

I have already change out my halogen Head & Fog on my Sport
If I was to do it again, i would get a 35 watt kit for the Headlights from
coolbulbs.com (kit G1K-9005) they fit perfect, 20 mins install time and for the Fogs I would use the Sylvania

don't give up that quick lol. The HIDs make a HUGE difference, and the install isn't bad at all.

I've got the TRS 9005 kit for the headlights, and I need to order the H11 kit for the fogs.

Hopefully, no one will EVER make an HID, or any other type of "retrofit" kit for this vehicle. In fact, I hope all such products are discontinued, outlawed, and confiscated on the spot- on the side of the road- by a baseball bat.

If you are driving a 2011-2013, and you NEED more then the stock light output, then get the hell off the road. If your vision is that bad, then you are not medically qualified/capable of driving safely at night. In the meantime, all these lighting modifications and super bright bulbs are very dangerous. They blind oncoming drivers, as well as those in front of you.
I am tired of seeing spots every time I go out at night, due to inconsiderate douchebags driving around with their "upgraded" lighting. The stupid "ice" blue ones are the worst. They create an incredible amount of glare. Hell, I've recently been "blinded" by some of these stupid things in bright daylight (why are they on anyway?). Not only are these aftermarket lights too bright, they are frequently aimed improperly as well.

Oh, and "FOG" lights are just that. They are intended to help you see in fog, and other conditions in which light is scattered. (Heavy rain, snow). They are not merely another opportunity to be an even bigger dick by blasting people with more "upgraded" bulbs . In order to be a FOG lights it MUST be either YELLOW (works best), AMBER (may or may not be legal- could be confused w/ turn signals) or RED (which isn't legal-reserved for cops). These are the only 3 light colors which actually "cut" through fog, snow,etc.. without scattering light everywhere. Using white, or "blue" lights for fogs does NOT help you see better, and it makes life miserable for everyone else on the road.:frustrate:fire:

There are plenty of things to modify on your vehicle. The headlights / fog lights should NEVER be one of them. It doesn't really matter what YOU like. These types of mods have too much of a safety impact on EVERYONE else on the road.

I'm glad the high beam functionality still works with our 9005 lights with the HID conversion, because I love blasting the high beams at people like you ranting at anyone doing HIDs for the sake of it, rather than only at those who do it the improper way lol. There's a right and wrong way to do HIDs, no need to flame those who do it the right way.

Except I'd probably never have to blare the high beams at you, because with a 5000k 35w setup in factory projector housings, you'd have a tough time telling that it was aftermarket HIDs instead of OEM ones, and you'd drive past without even knowing it wasn't factory. Now 8000k-12000k going blue and purple those are annoying and less light output on the road. Or HID bulbs in halogen reflector housings, which do throw a lot of glare. But HIDs in a 4300k (or close to it) color, in a projector housing, there's no glare, there's no bright blue or purple light, and there's no blinding.

Learn the facts before you go on a flaming hater mission.

I've got 35W 6000K HID headlights/fogs on my explorer. Love the difference.

Not only are these aftermarket lights too bright, they are frequently aimed improperly as well.

If the correct hardware and colors are chosen, I would dare you to pick the aftermarket HID's out of a lineup of factory HID Explorers. I've put my Sport w/ aftermarket HID's side by side w/ the Limited and can't tell the difference.

Being frequently aimed improperly has nothing to do w/ HID's, there are a plethora of standard bulbs aimed incorrectly on the road as well.

we had sylvania silverstars in my wife's SRT-4 neon and in my HD F-150 and about every 6 months one bulb would go out. Got tired of changing the stupid things. And yes I installed them the proper way and never touched the glass.

So you can't break old habbits I suppose.....just ordered the Sylvania Silverstar zXe's for the Sport's fogs lol. The LEDs didn't work out, one set was too large to fit through the opening, one set the polarity was wrong on one side and you can't flip an H11 plug, and I'm a little leary about putting HIDs in the fogs from heat and glare. Fingers crossed the zXe's last a bit longer than the old standard silverstars did lol.

Does the "auto" light feature work on the TRS 9005 kit?

well.. the zxe bulbs were a big fail... dont like them too much.. Not much whiter than stock.. going with an HID kit now probably.

I got the H11 HID 3000k from TRS (website)

Still not sure if i want yellow or not. I really got it for bad weather. It is bright, I used it in a thunderstorm and worked great. here is some pictures, think my camera picked up the light really well. looks birghter in picture then what it actually is. Evern my stock hids looked really bright.

Just fogs on

Fogs only

Thank you for the pictures of your fog's, I was thinking of doing the same thing myself and buying from TRS. My question is, with your fog's being 3000k do you believe the HID puts out too much glare? I want to use my fogs for bad weather driving only (upper peninsula Michigan) but I have some family members who have a hard time remembering to follow directions and not to touch something. I am worried if I install 3000k hid fog lights that it will blind and give off too much glare if they are accidentally turned on.
