usual suspect are cleaning the iac and MAF and then maybe try the "adjusting the TPS" (there is a thread in under the hood I think on adjustments that "help" things a bit).

i adjusted the tps to .961volts. what should i use to clean the iac and maf? thanks

there are some threads on that... basically remove the iac and ensure that the passages in the throttle are clean (throttle body cleaner) and same with the IAC. The MAF needs "gentle" cleaning as it is very delicate. Lastly, I forgot about the "old usual suspect"... intake leaks, around vacuum lines and gasket areas... check with carb cleaner while the engine is running to see if spraying cleaner around various areas causes a "stumble".... that's your leak.

No, that's not what he said.

You can use carb cleaner to check for a vacuum leak.

You might be able to use carb cleaner to clean the IAC if it's dirty, but you do not want to use it for the MAF sensor.

well, i cleaned the IAC including the 3 pelt filters, cleaned the MAF with electrical cleaner and got the rpms to drop under 1000,i think i'm going to leave it alone now because its so smooth running. Also i sprayed the carb cleaner all around the intake and there was no stumble,so if there a vacuum leak i cant find it

You might check the grommet for the pvc valve-it should fit tightly.

thanks,i know its probably covered elsewhere, but where is the pcv on the 5.0?thanks

Way in back-dead center of the lower intake manifold.
