high temp low oil

Randomly while driving the high temp low oil light comes on and the oil pressure drops to L. Sometimes it stays on for 2-3 seconds and sometimes for about 30 seconds. When the light comes on the engine continues to run normally. I checked the oil and it is good. I am thinking maybe the oil pressure switch has gone bad?

Either that or you have oil delivery problems (clogged pump screen, bad pump). I'd suggest getting a cheap oil pressure gauge and monitoring the pressure while you're driving. If it's stable when the light comes on, you've got a sensor issue. If it drops, you've got a bigger problem. You can get a gauge like the one below for about $20.
