I looked up a search for this but only found people talking about the shaft. I in this case KNOW it's the rack that has some play in it. The rack is a salvaged rack from Advance Auto Parts and had this problem only since it was put in. I know some vehicles can be adjusted, is the Explorer one of them? I am not sure if it's just a dead spot or what (not my vehicle; neighbor's). If there is an adjustment, could someone show me where the screw/adjuster is? Thank you!

I thought "rack slack" required a plastic surgeon:D

Sorry. I'm in one of those moods.

I read the shaft notes, but this only became worse after the rack was changed out. The old rack was groaning so bad and it was replaced (what a pain that was...) and now it drifts all over the road. I would really doubt that all of a sudden the shaft went to hell, but that is just a guess.
