How easy is it to change IAC?

I read a few posts here about the IAC and problems with these things and am pretty sure this is whats wrong with our 2001 XLS. A few months ago it was acting up and I pulled the intake off and cleaned all the carbon off the throttle body blades and it worked ok for a while. Here lately its started up again. Cold starts require you to pump the gas pedal like a carb'd motor to keep it idling. After a few minutes its fine. So....Im pretty sure its not hard to chage but any advice or tips?

IAC is VERY easy to change. I think it was only like 2 bolts and an electrical connector on mine. Yours shouldn't be much different. Very easy to do.

On my 2000 XLT I removed the covers off of the top of the engine 5 bolts if I remember correctly, put the covers on a shelf in the garage. removed the 2 bolts and the electrical connector from the IAC (it was the part on the top of my engine). cleaned it with carb and choke cleaner and it works for 6 months at that point open the hood and repeat. takes about 1 minute with a socket.
